Our Mission

To empower students to grow with confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Godfrey Learning Academy is an accredited Pre-K through 8th grade microschool in San Marcos — a refined, intimate alternative to traditional private school for families in San Marcos and New Braunfels, where every child is taught, mentored, and known.

What is a microschool?

A small school designed around your child — not a system.

A microschool blends the warmth of homeschool with the structure of a private academy. At GLA, that means mixed-age classrooms of 8–12 students, a teacher who actually knows your child, and learning paced to who they are — not just their grade level.

  • Built for the child who doesn't fit the mold
Whether they're ahead, behind, neurodivergent, or just need more breathing room — they belong here.
  • Less noise, more relationship
No assemblies of 500 kids. No teacher who can't remember your child's name. Just a small, steady community.
  • Real instruction, not just enrichment
We're an accredited academic program teaching every core subject — reading, writing, math, science, history, and more — led by experienced teachers.
Our approach

A place for every kind of learner.

Whether your child is ahead, behind, or somewhere in between, GLA meets them where they are — and grows with them from there.

01

Individualized Instruction

Goals are built around your child — not their age. We close gaps, extend strengths, and track real progress.

02

Small, Mixed-Age Classrooms

Low student-to-teacher ratios mean every child gets daily 1-on-1 time and a teacher who truly knows them.

03

Hands-On, Real-World Learning

Outdoor science, student-led projects, building, making. Kids leave each day having actually done something.

04

A Family-Like Community

Warm, intentional, relationship-based. The kind of place where your child is greeted by name every morning.

Our schedule

Four focused days. One steady rhythm.

Core instruction runs Monday through Thursday, 8am–3pm. Fridays are by invitation only — reserved for students flagged by their teacher for additional intervention time — giving families a predictable week and every child the support they need.
