Our Story
At Godfrey Learning Academy, we believe every child deserves an education that celebrates who they are—not just as students, but as whole people. Our microschool was born from a simple but powerful idea: that children thrive in smaller, more personalized environments where their unique strengths, needs, and interests are truly seen.
Traditional classrooms are often overcrowded, rigid, and focused more on test scores than on real learning. We saw families—especially in Kyle, Texas—searching for something different. Something better.
So we built it.
Godfrey Learning Academy was created to be that better option: a safe, joyful, and creative learning space where curiosity is encouraged, confidence is built, and every learner feels like they matter. With intentionally small class sizes, hands-on learning, and meaningful teacher-student relationships, we make space for deep understanding and real academic growth.
We don’t just teach lessons—we nurture lifelong learners. Our approach combines strong academics with emotional support, creative expression, and critical thinking. Every child at GLA is known, valued, and empowered to succeed—not just in school, but in life.
This is more than a school. This is a movement toward something better—for kids, for families, and for the future of education.
Our mission at Godfrey Learning Academy is to empower students to grow with confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Values
At Godfrey Learning Academy, our values are the heartbeat of everything we do. We believe that children learn best in a supportive, joyful environment where they feel safe to be themselves and excited to grow.
We honor individualized learning by recognizing that every child is unique—and we tailor our teaching to meet their needs, strengths, and pace. Our days are filled with engagement and fun, from hands-on experiments to creative projects, making learning meaningful and memorable.
As a secular and inclusive program, we welcome families from all backgrounds and strive to build a school community rooted in respect, belonging, and care.
Above all, we value community—because learning isn’t just academic. It’s social, emotional, and deeply human. Through strong relationships and collaboration, we help students grow into confident learners and compassionate people.
Our Staff
At Godfrey Learning Academy, our teachers do more than deliver lessons—they nurture curiosity, build confidence, and make learning feel personal and joyful. A GLA teacher sees every child as an individual and takes the time to truly understand who they are, how they learn best, and what lights them up.
Our teachers are warm, patient, and responsive. They lead with empathy, build meaningful relationships, and create classrooms where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. With small class sizes, GLA teachers are able to offer personalized attention and real-time support, helping each student move forward at their own pace.
We believe powerful teaching means being flexible, creative, and reflective. GLA teachers design hands-on lessons that are engaging and purposeful—drawing from student interests, academic goals, and real-world connections. They don’t just teach for test scores—they teach for lifelong learning, emotional growth, and a love of discovery.
Most importantly, a GLA teacher believes in every child. They recognize the potential in their students and work every day to help them see it, too.
