Purposeful hours, from arrival to dismissal.
Every day is intentional. Core academics in the morning, hands-on and individualized work in the afternoon — with real recess, real relationships, and real instruction woven throughout.
Times are approximate and may shift based on the day, lesson flow, and student needs.
- 8:00 – 9:00
Arrival
Families may arrive anytime between 8:00 and 9:00. The school day officially begins at 9:00, giving working families flexibility without sacrificing instructional time.
- 9:00 – 9:15
Morning Meeting
We open the day together — attendance, calendar, a shared read-aloud or discussion prompt. A grounding community moment before we get to work.
- 9:15 – 9:30
Literacy Warm-Up
A short, focused burst of phonics, sight-word review, or a read-aloud to settle into the day's learning.
- 9:30 – 10:00
Snack & Outdoor Break
First snack and real recess — fresh air, movement, and unstructured play. Recess isn't optional here — it's how kids come back ready to focus.
- 10:00 – 11:00
Literacy Block · Science of Reading
Explicit phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension using a Science of Reading–aligned approach. Small-group instruction with the teacher; independent practice built into each rotation.
- 11:00 – 12:00
Lunch & Recess
Family-style lunch followed by outdoor play. Community, connection, and time to just be kids.
- 12:00 – 1:00
Math Block
Direct instruction paced to your child's level, then guided and independent practice. Mixed-age grouping means every student is met where they are — never held back, never rushed past a shaky foundation.
- 1:00 – 1:30
Science & Social Studies
Rotating content blocks — hands-on science one day, history and geography the next. Real experiments, real projects, real books. Writing is woven across every subject, not isolated to a single block.
- 1:30 – 1:45
Second Snack
A quick refuel before the afternoon stretch. A small snack and a brain break help students finish the day strong.
- 1:45 – 2:45
1-on-1 & Independent Work
Protected time for individualized support. The teacher pulls students one by one for intervention, extension, or conferencing while others work independently on goals set for them.
- 2:45 – 3:00
Closing Circle & Dismissal
Reflection, gratitude, and a shared moment before pickup. Kids leave knowing what they accomplished — and what's ahead tomorrow.
Core instruction runs Monday through Thursday. Fridays are by invitation only — reserved for students flagged by their teacher for additional intervention or extension time.
From arrival to dismissal, every hour matters.
