It started with a classroom — and a frustration.
Before founding GLA, our director spent years inside traditional schools — teaching, designing curriculum, and watching the same patterns repeat. Students who needed more time got moved along anyway. Students with genuine strengths were overlooked because those strengths weren't on the test. Families who asked questions were met with policy instead of partnership.
She left knowing she couldn't fix the system from within. So she built something different from the outside: a place where small isn't a limitation — it's the entire point. Where teachers have space to notice what a student needs and the freedom to actually respond.
GLA opened in Kyle, Texas in 2025 serving Kindergarten through 5th grade — intentionally small, intentionally personal. Now we're expanding to San Marcos, growing into Pre-K through 8th grade and deepening what we've always believed education could be.

At GLA, small class sizes aren't a feature we promote — they're the foundation everything else is built on. When teachers truly know their students, learning stops being one-size-fits-all.

Instruction follows the student, not the calendar. Children move forward when they're ready — not when the schedule says so.

A GLA teacher sees every child as an individual and takes the time to truly understand who they are, how they learn best, and what lights them up.
Our teachers are warm, patient, and responsive. They lead with empathy, build meaningful relationships, and create classrooms where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. With small class sizes, they're able to offer personalized attention and real-time support — helping each student move forward at their own pace.
Most importantly, a GLA teacher believes in every child. They recognize the potential in their students and work every day to help them see it, too.
We're just getting started.
GLA was never meant to be just one academy for one community. The students who need this kind of education exist everywhere — and the families who want it deserve access to it.
Our vision is to expand thoughtfully across Texas, bringing the same care and intentionality that defines our home into new communities. Every location we open will be led by experienced educators who know their students by name.
